A young boy with autism is missing, and the search continued today to search for him.
The LaPorte Iowa Police Department posted the following message on their Facebook page:
“We had another great turnout today with the amount of volunteers that came to help! We cannot thank everyone enough for all their efforts in searching, for providing food for all the hard workers and everyone in between… Thank you! Unfortunately, today did not end how we were hoping again and we will be out searching for Jake again tomorrow. Please meet at the La Porte City Fire Station tomorrow (Tuesday 4-10-18) at 8 AM if you are able to help. We are asking those who have ATV’s or UTV’s to bring those with you as we will be searching further distances and in bigger areas. Again, we cannot thank everyone enough!
The missing 16-year-old boy with autism is entering its third day in northeast Iowa.

“We always thank God for all of you and continually mention you in our prayers. We remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ. For we know, brothers and sisters loved by God, that he has chosen you, because our gospel came to you not simply with words but also with power, with the Holy Spirit and deep conviction. You know how we lived among you for your sake. You became imitators of us and of the Lord, for you welcomed the message in the midst of severe suffering with the joy given by the Holy Spirit.”
